Every year, new varieties of plants are developed. Some have functional improvements, like stronger stems or better heat tolerance, others have visual improvements, like larger blooms or a stunning new colour. We love researching new varieties, and every year we choose the best ones to add to our mix.

Cats Plus Pansies

Solarscape XL Pink

Durable Solarscape outperformed the comparison varieties and because it is grown from seed, it gives you more options for starting impatiens at home. Vibrant pink satiny blooms cover the mounded plants non-stop all season, adding a bright and pleasing tropical appeal to the garden. Solarscape XL Pink Jewel has superior disease resistance, especially to the dreaded impatiens downy mildew. Sunfinity® Double Yellow Sunflower

Sunfinity® Double Yellow Sunflower (Helianthus annuus) showcases generous layers of golden petals from late spring until frost. Our growing trials confirm that it keeps producing fresh blooms even in demanding conditions. It reaches around 3 to 4 feet in height and adds a commanding presence wherever it's planted. Many gardeners favor its extended blooming season over typical sunflowers for consistent, cheery color.

Sweet Daisy™ Birdy Leucanthemum

Sweet Daisy™ Birdy Leucanthemum is a beautiful perennial with robust, long-lasting blooms and carefree longevity in gardens down to zone 3. In the AAS Trials, it demonstrated excellent cold and heat tolerance and maintained a tidy, sturdy habit over the three-year trial. The cheery flowers are large and pure white in color, appearing earlier in the season than the comparison varieties. The 5″ reflexed daisy blooms feature small feathery petals around golden yellow button centers. Leucanthemums, also known as Shasta Daisies, are used for both cut flowers and garden highlights while also providing food and habitat for many kinds of pollinators. Enjoy this beauty in the garden as a medium-height bright spot (great for moonlight gardens) that will provide years of beauty with very little maintenance other than deadheading spent blooms if desired, but not necessary.

Oriental Lily 'Gomera'

Kuzco Tomato

Kuzco Tomato is a determinate variety that matures in 63-68 days, producing extra-large, blocky, roma-type fruits weighing approximately 3½ to 5 oz. each. These smooth, firm, and fiery red fruits are excellent for canning and have a very good shelf life, making them perfect for farmers markets. Kuzco performs exceptionally well in hot climates but is also well-adapted to other environments. It offers intermediate resistance to Gray Leaf Spot and Tomato Spotted Wilt Virus. With its very early maturity and high productivity, this tomato variety stands out for its resilience and yield.

Penstemon Pristine Deep Rose 

Producing lovely pinkish-rose blossoms atop lustrous emerald stems, Pristine Deep Rose Beardtongue provides interest all summer long whether outside in the garden or inside in bouquets. Growing to a maximum height of 15 to 20 inches and spread of 10 to 15 inches, this herbaceous perennial attracts songbirds, bees, and hummingbirds with its bright, tubular flowers. Otherwise known as Penstemon barbatus ‘Pristine Deep Rose’ and Beardlip Beardtongue, this easy-to-grow perennial is cold hardy in zones 5-9 and blooms its first year.

Peony Sonoma Yedo

Peony Sonoma Yedo is an Early Midseason extreme double yellow Peony Itoh Hybrid, with the highest petal count of all yellow Peony Itoh Hybrids that we grow. It blooms over a long period of time rather than opening all of the blooms on the plant at the same time. It begins opening blooms before Bartzella and will have blooms open well after Bartzella has finished up blooming. Lovely lemon fragrance.

Bela Lugosi Daylily

Daylilies are a summertime staple known for bright and prolific blooms, and the Bela Lugosi Daylily completely lives up to this reputation. The large flowers are a staggering 6-inches wide and are a shade of deep purple with a lime green throat. Hemerocallis has tall, lance-shaped dark green foliage that gently arches, creating a fountain-like effect.

This award-winning cultivar will be the focal point of a bed, border, or mass planting. The beautiful flowers will stand out when planted alongside plants with neutral-colored blooms or look beautiful with similar colored flowers.

Cherry-Go-Round® Reblooming Hydrangea

Tuff Stuff Top Fun Hydrangea

Brimming with color, Tuff Stuff Top Fun hydrangea’s bold lacecap blooms are supported by bright burgundy stems. Each flower is filled with cheery green fertile florets at the center and purple or pink infertile florets around the edges. So inviting to pollinators and quite a lovely cut for florists. And these flowers just keep coming all summer long, first on old wood and later on new wood. Continuous Bloom or Rebloomer. Heat Tolerant. Salt Tolerant.
